Review of Targets for 2009
Sad to say, I have yet to hit most of them.
I had a good first few months, doing my work, eating better and gaining speed. Halfway through the year, there was a slip. No excuses about it ...
2010 is here and it's time to buck up again.
"I have a dream ..."
And I still have a dream.

A little review
Today will be my last match for the season this year. I had a good 9 matches and won 3. Not too impressive a record but I guess it was a marked improvement from the year before.
Tonight's game against CSC was pretty close. Lost 2-3, 7-9 in the 5th set. I took too long to get into the grove and was easily unsettled whenever the pace picked up. Was nervy at the T and tended to move before my opponent hit. As such when he increased the pace or held the shot a bit longer, I would have problems.
Strangely, the mind always latches onto that one weakness instead of focusing on the many things one can do well or one should keep on doing. I mean I am not exactly fast at this point of time but I am not that slow ... If I were to just wait confidently at the T, watch and be ready, I should be able to get to all shots. But yet, the mind plays the devil and rehashes my lack of speed to a point that I get really anxious when I am at the T or feel too lethargic and slow to move smoothly. Oh well ... something I got to work on.
To reaffirm that I am light and I can reach all the shots. I am always on my toes and ready for the next shot. I watch the ball and I respond fast.
I guess the only comforting thing today was that my opponent commented I did much better than last year. He asked whether I was the same slightly bigger girl who played against them at NEA last year. Said I looked fitter and moved better.
Oh well ... wait till these guys see me again next year!
ps: btw, I lost the weight challenge to my brother. I can't believe it. He still looks the same! Well, however I do have some way to go before I return to my probably fittest state before I left for the States.

Targets for 2009
I have put up my targets for 2009 on my bedroom wall. Hopefully this physical reminder will keep me on track.

Oh, the 'perspective' piece is missing. I shall add it in sometime. =)
One target is to read 10 good books in 2009 and for that I will start another blog as some sort of a checklist. And it shall be called Cyperus Papyrus. Sounds cool right? Haha.
